MBG, one of the main subsidiaries of Poulina Group Holding, recently played a pivotal role in the construction of the steel structures that cover all the buildings of the Sfax Desalination Project.
Without any notable errors, MBG efficiently and quickly MBG completed a series of large-scale works that testify to its expertise and commitment to excellence. This work included:
• Sea Water Pumping Station: Feeding the sand filters, MBG installed a steel structure covering over 1,000 m² with a weight of 100 tons.
• Multi-Media Sand Filter Building: Installed a steel structure covering over 3,400 m² with a weight of 300 tons.
• Reverse Osmosis Building: Installed a steel structure covering over 7,000 m² with a weight of 540 tons.
• Calcite Building: Another achievement, MBG installed a steel structure covering over 1,500 m² with a weight of 150 tons.
• Primary and Final Treatment Buildings: Installed 2 steel structures covering over 480 m² with a weight of 70 tons.
In total, MBG installed steel structures covering over 13,380 m², nearly equivalent to the surface area of two football fields, with a total weight of 1,160 tons, which is approximately the weight of 290 medium-sized cars.
It is important to note that the weight of the bolts and fasteners used in the buildings, as well as the weight of the sandwich panels installed to cover the steel structures, were not included in this estimate. These panels provide high thermal and acoustic insulation, increasing the overall construction weight and reflecting the complexity and precision of the work carried out by MBG. Installing the steel structures along with the insulation panels, bolts, and fasteners required attention to every detail to ensure stability and efficiency, demonstrating MBG’s professionalism and commitment to quality in project execution.
One of the most important of these buildings is the Reverse Osmosis Building, covering 7,000 m²—almost the size of a football field. This remarkable achievement underscores MBG’s commitment to quality and efficiency, making us grateful for the vital role the company played in the success of this crucial project.
